14 Hospitals & Practices Expanding Orthopedics Programs & Adding Physicians

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Here are 14 hospitals that have recently expanded orthopedic services or added new orthopedic surgeons.

Matthew Nugent, MD, has joined the team at Asante Physician Partners – Orthopedics in Grants Pass, Ore. Dr. Nugent holds a sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship from Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Greenville, S.C.

 

Jessica Wertz, DO, has joined Carroll Health Group Orthopaedics, a practice group of Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md. Dr. Wertz is a fellowship-trained sports medicine physician.

 

Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, Ga., has added Lawrence L. Conley, DO, to its medical staff. Dr. Conley focuses on joint arthroplasty, hand surgery and sports medicine.

 

Florida Hospital Apopka has opened a new location in one of its medical office buildings for Florida Hospital Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Apopka. The facility offers spine rehabilitation, physical therapy, fall prevention, industrial medicine and foot orthotic fabrication services.

 

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute has opened a new 18,000-square-foot comprehensive orthopedic center in Chicago. The facility offers services including joint reconstruction and replacement, pain management, sports medicine, hip surgery, knee surgery, ankle surgery, foot surgery, hand surgery, elbow surgery, shoulder surgery, spine surgery, diagnostic imaging and physical therapy.

 

Kenmore (N.Y.) Mercy Hospital has opened a $5.4 million orthopedic win. The 15,300-square-foot Knee & Hip Center includes 24 individual rooms and a physical rehabilitation unit.

 

Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, based in Los Angeles, has added Michael B. Banffy, MD, to its medical staff. Dr. Banffy completed his orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe.

 

Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., has added orthopedic surgeon Craig McAsey, MD, to its medical staff. Dr. McAsey has a professional interest in total hip replacement, avascular necrosis and infected hip and knee replacements.

 

Murray (Ky.)-Calloway Hospital has added Stephen Compton, MD, to its medical staff. Dr. Compton completed his orthopedic surgery residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

 

Hillary Becker, MD, has joined Sanford Health, based in Sioux Falls, S.D. Dr. Becker holds a hand surgery fellowship from Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Dr. Becker is Sanford Health's first female orthopedic surgeon.

 

Sansum Multi-Specialty Clinic of Lompoc (Calif.) has added Robert Fry, MD, to its medical staff. Dr. Fry concentrates on sports medicine, fracture care, arthroscopy and hip, knee and shoulder replacement.

 

Jaclyn Hill, MD, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, has joined the team at Texas Children's Hospital West Campus in Houston. Dr. Hill also serves as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.

 

Twin Cities Orthopedics Burnsville (Minn.) has completed an expansion project, which includes the addition of seven exam rooms, two therapy gyms, a hydrotherapy pool, digital x-ray room and new administrative offices.

 

UT Orthopaedics, based in Houston, has added Vic Goradia, MD. Dr. Goradia has a specific interest in knee and shoulder surgery and sports medicine.
