Private equity inks $90B in healthcare deals: 3 things ASCs need to know

Private equity in 2022 closed on almost $90 billion in healthcare deals, according to an April 10 report from consulting firm Bain & Co.

The second highest year on record, 2023 saw huge PE interest in life sciences and biopharma sectors. 

Here are three more key notes that ASC leaders need to know:

  1. The first half of 2022 saw a continuation of 2021’s record-breaking healthcare private equity deal pace, but transactions slowed in the second half of the year. 
  2. Value-based care and primary care continued to draw investment from private equity groups. 
  3. More than 40 exits valued above $500 million were closed in 2022.
