Pulaski Proposes Zoning Ordinance Changes for Pain Clinics

Pulaski Planning Commission has developed and recommended the approval of proposed zoning ordinance changes that would give Pulaski, Va., more control over pain management clinics, according to a report by The Southwest Times.

Under the proposed zoning ordinance changes, pain management clinics would be defined as publicly- or privately-owned establishments that advertise as providing pain management services, have pain treatment as its primary or exclusive treatment or a majority of patients receive pain management services.

The proposed changes to the ordinance would also prohibit pain clinics from locating on the same parcel of land as a pre-existing pharmacy or operating within 1,000 feet of a residential district, school, day care center, nursing home, religious institution or another pain management clinic.

The proposed amendments will be forwarded to the town council for approval, according to the report.
