Pri-Med, a provider of professional medical education, and the American College of Physicians announced that they have been awarded an educational grant to develop a training program for clinicians that educates them about safety and efficacy when prescribing opioids.
REMS Program Companies, a group that manufactures extended-release and long-acting opioids, awarded the grant.
The grant incorporates elements of the recently approved FDA Blueprint for Prescriber Education for Extended-Release and Long-Acting Opioid Analgesics guideline program. The initiative will be launched on June 15, through a certified, online curriculum.
