Neurostimulation System Shows Positive Findings in Treating Cluster Headache

A study of Autonomic Technologies' implantable neurostimulation system for the treatment of cluster headache reported positive preliminary findings, according to a release by Autonomic Technologies.

 

The study, reported at the 15th Congress of the International Headache Society in Berlin, found that the primary endpoint of pain relief was met within 15 minutes for 67 percent of headaches treated.

 

In addition, more than 70 percent of patients experienced a reduction in the frequency of their headaches by 50 percent or more.
