The Indiana House has approved final legislation that increases regulations for pain management clinics, according to a report by The Herald Bulletin.
The legislation would give the Indiana attorney general new authority to review medical records at pain management clinics across the state without having to wait for law enforcement to issue a search warrant. It also requires pain clinic owners to maintain a controlled substance registry, and requires that pain management clinics in Indiana be owned and operated by a person who holds valid registration to prescribe controlled substances.
The legislation has now gone to the governor for approval, according to the report.
