Col. Kevin Galloway: Army Needs Multi-Pronged Approach to Pain Management

Col. Kevin T. Galloway, the chief of staff for pain management in the Army, said the Army is creating a standard for pain management that includes drugs, acupuncture and other therapies, according to a Watertown Daily Times report.

Traditionally, the Army has relied on morphine to treat pain, but Col. Galloway said working to maximize a soldier's functionality is more important than merely getting rid of the pain.
