Certain spine procedures cost significantly less when performed at ASCs instead of hospital outpatient departments, according to Medicare's Procedure Price Lookup tool.

Cost comparison for three spine procedures:

1. 64483: Injections of anesthetic and/or steroid drug into lower or sacral spine nerve root using imaging guidance
ASC: $394
HOPD: $764

2. 62323: Injection of substance into spinal canal of lower back or sacrum using imaging guidance
ASC: $308
HOPD: $598

3. 64493: Injections of lower or sacral spine facet joint using imaging guidance
ASC: $394
HOPD: $764
