The Orthopaedic Institute names 4 new executives

Gainesville, Fla.-based The Orthopaedic Institute named new executive leadership.

Here are four new leaders:

• CEO: Richard Gilbert, MD
• COO: William Hubbard
• Vice President of Corporate Development: Michael Anderson
• Chief Medical Officer: Andrew Rocca, MD

Dr. Gilbert has 25-plus years of experience in healthcare management, including time spent as president of MDLIVE's medical group. He also spent time as CMO of Mednax where he oversaw thousands of healthcare specialists across the country. During his medical career, Dr. Gilbert served as chief of the anesthesiology department and president of the medical staff at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Hubbard previously served as vice president of operations for Charlotte-based Carolinas HealthCare System, a nonprofit health system with 900-plus care locations and $9 billion in annual revenue. He also has experience as a marketing analyst for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.

Before Joining TOI, Mr. Anderson was director with Brengal Partners, a New York-based private equity fund, where he spent time developing theses, deal sourcing, allocating internal resources across deals and investment committee processes for the firm's healthcare services.

As a result of the new leadership, TOI plans to grow its footprint in North Central Florida.
