Geisinger Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Scranton opens after physicians relocate — 3 insights

Justin Tunis, MD, and Shazad Shaikh, MD, moved their practice from Scranton, Pa.-based Geisinger Community Medical Center to a new location in Scranton, the Abington Journal reports.

Here's what you should know:

1. The duo named the relocated practice Geisinger Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Scranton.

2. In addition to Drs. Tunis and Shaikh, five other physicians will begin seeing patients at the new location.

3. The new practice will perform outpatient surgeries at Dickson City, Pa.-based North East Surgery Center.
