Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. Brashear used the anterior hip replacement approach to conduct the minimally invasive procedure. His patient was able to return home the same day of surgery.
2. Four weeks after the procedure, the patient reported long-term pain was gone and he returned to regular activities.
3. Dr. Brashear currently has another dozen outpatient joint procedures scheduled after the success of his first procedure at the ASC.
4. Prior to joining Appalachian Orthopedics, Dr. Brashear practiced at Fayette Regional Hospital in Connersville, Ind., focused on general orthopedics.
