Unicompartmental, or partial knee replacement, is available to patients whose arthritis is confined to one area of the knee. The minimally invasive, outpatient procedure allows patients to recover faster with less pain. Dr. Pompo will continue to perform the procedure for patients at the ASC —- the first procedure was performed June 18.
“Offering this procedure at our outpatient surgery center is one of the ways we can help patients get back to doing what they love sooner. Additionally, by saving the healthy bone and tissue in the knee, the replacement often feels more like a natural knee than a traditional knee replacement,” Dr. Pompo said.
Dr. Pompo earned his medical degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio.
