Brian Mathias becomes The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics' chief clinical officer — 4 key notes

Bethesda, Md.-based The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics hired Brian Mathias as chief clinical officer.

Here are four things to know:

1. In his new role, Mr. Mathias will serve The Centers' 65 clinical locations, 39 physical therapy clinics and 170-plus physicians. The practice also includes 35 ASCs focused on orthopedics, spine and sports medicine.

2. Before joining The Centers, Mr. Mathias served as CEO of Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates in Salisbury, Md. While there, he doubled the number of providers in the group and opened three additional offices.

3. Mr. Mathias has experience opening an ASC as well as a research program and physical therapy service during his 10 years at Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates. The practice grew revenue by 83 percent since he joined in 2007.

4. Mr. Mathias is excited to join The Centers and looks forward to growing the organization in the future.
