St. Mary's of Michigan-Saginaw Joins Michigan Spine Surgery Improvement Collaborative

St. Mary's of Michigan-Saginaw has joined the Michigan Spine Surgery Improvement Collaborative, an initiative that aims at measuring and improving the care of patients who undergo spine surgery, according to a Midland Daily News report.

The collaborative will collect and analyze data on spine surgery patients at the eight participating hospitals. Neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons will review the data and share observations to develop best practices so as to reduce complications and the need for repeat surgeries.

The collaborative also includes Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network and Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System, according to the report.
