US Eye received a certificate of need from the Virginia Department of Health after witnessing rapid patient growth in the region, according to an Aug. 1 press release.

The new operating room is number five of US Eye’s ASCs, all of which are certified by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

The new operating room will serve patients from two practices, Chesapeake-based Griffey Eye Care and Albemarle (N.C.) Eye Center, both of which are US Eye practices.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
