Ophthalmologists are the seventh-happiest physician specialists in 2023, with 62 percent describing themselves as either happy or very happy outside of the workplace, according to a Feb. 24 Medscape report based on a survey of over 9,100 practicing physicians. 

New York City-based State University of New York College of Optometry is partnering with State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse to help create more eye care professionals.

Cristos Ifantides, MD, has been named director of clinical applications development for Ace Vision Group, an ophthalmic technology company.

The first ophthalmologic biosimilar did not launch in the U.S. until July 2022, and some prescribers are still cautious about their uses, according to Cardinal Health's 2023 "Biosimilars Report," which surveyed over 350 providers in four physician specialties.
