Ophthalmologist Dr. Tamim Qaum to Receive Humanitarian Award

Ophthalmologist Tamim Qaum, MD, will receive a humanitarian award next week, according to a KSN TV report.

Dr. Quam practices out of Via Christi Clinic in Wichita, Kan. He is receiving the Inter-Faith Ministries’ Humanitarian Award for his involvement in developing a drug therapy that has helped millions save their eyesight.

 

The therapy is a series of eye injections that block a molecule that increases damage to the retina. Dr. Quam began his research into the therapy while attending Harvard Medical School in Boston.
