Dr. Greenfield assumed the two-year post Jan. 1. He will follow his service as vice president with a two-year term as president.
Dr. Greenfield is a professor of ophthalmology and director of the glaucoma fellowship program at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
“It is an extraordinary honor and privilege to serve the American Glaucoma Society, our profession, and the friends and colleagues for whom I have such great professional respect,” said Dr. Greenfield, in the release.
He is co-founder of The International Society for Imaging in the Eye, and president and co-founder of The Florida Glaucoma Society.
