Ophthalmologist Dr. Asher Ze’ev Rabinowitz Dead

Ophthalmologist Asher Ze’ev Rabinowitz, MD, has died, according to a Vindy.com report and his obituary.

Dr. Rabinowitz, who was considered a pioneer in refractive eye surgery in the Youngstown, Ohio, area, died August 12.

 

He attended Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Hadassah Medical School where he specialized in ophthalmology. He served as a doctor in the Israel Defense Forces and worked at several hospitals in Israel.

 

Dr. Rabinowitz completed a fellowship in ophthalmology at the Vascular Physiology Laboratory at New York Medical College. He later moved to the Youngstown area where he was recognized as an expert in cataract and refractive surgery.
