The Belmont Eye Clinic in Liberty Township, Ohio, has closed after operating for more than 50 years, according to an Aug. 14 report from ABC affiliate WKBN.

Due to the passing of its former physician Sherif Hanna, MD, and the departure of James Cover, OD, and Julianne Matthews, MD, the practice did not have a provider as of Aug. 1.

In a letter to patients, Belmont Eye Clinic said that patient records could be collected at the office until Aug. 31.

The clinic attempted to sell the office as a way to continue to provide care at the same location, but was unsuccessful, the report said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
