McKesson completes ophthalmology acquisition

McKesson has completed an $850 million acquisition of general ophthalmology and retina management services company PRISM Vision Holdings. 

Through the acquisition, McKesson will own 80% of PRISM, according to an April 2 news release. PRISM will retain the other 20%. 

McKesson will now be able to develop its first retinal and ophthalmology platform, expanding its clinical services and offerings. 

The acquisition was first announced in early February.
