Dr. David Vollman Heads VA Cataract Surgery Outcomes Data Collection

David Vollman, MD, board-certified ophthalmologist of the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, is spearheading a program designed to collect cataract surgery outcome results from the entire VA Administration, according to a report by The Washington Post.

Thus far, the project has determined that the complication rate of cataract surgeries performed within the VA system is lower than that of procedures performed in the private-sector hospital setting.
