Surgery Center Coalition Brings Compliance Experts Together for Annual Meeting

The Surgery Center Coalition will hold its 10th anniversary conference on Sept. 10 in Somerset, N.J., bringing together representatives from the New Jersey Department of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and The Joint Commission.
 
The speakers, together under the same roof for the first time ever, will speak about ASC surveys and inspections. There will also be pharmacy, infection control and legal updates.
 
The event is open to ASC leaders from around the country, and those who are unable to attend are invited to send in questions for different representatives about compliance and infection prevention. SCC was founded by Marcy Sasso, Director of Compliance & Development at Facility Development & Management, and Dorcie Wawrzynski, RN, Administrator and Director of Nursing at May Street SurgiCenter in Edison, N.J.
 
SCC includes quarterly and annual meetings on issues such as HIPAA, case costing, state reporting, benchmarking, quality insurance, policies and procedures and insurance issues. The SCC has no dues for membership and their mission is ASCs supporting ASCs through educational resources.
