Sioux City Journal’s Newsmaker of the Year? Siouxland Surgery Center’s Matthew Ung

Siouxland Surgery Center healthcare administration professional employee Matthew Ung was named Newsmaker of the Year for 2014 by the Sioux City Journal after running a successful campaign to serve in public office.

Mr. Ung took office Nov. 10 as Woodbury County Supervisor. The report heralds Mr. Ung as:

• Willing to “shake things up”
• Representing residents “across the board”
• Planning to “change the culture of the courthouse”
• Planning to make the bill-paying process more transparent

Mr. Ung made it clear in the report he is “honored to serve” and was able to win support despite a few controversies along the way. Siouxland Surgery Center is AAAHC-accredited and includes otolaryngology, gastroenterology, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, orthopedics and pain management.
