This week, Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Rep. David Boren (R-Okla.), Rep. Vern Buchanan and Rep. David Scott (D-Ga.) joined other lawmakers as co-sponsors of the ASC Quality and Access Act of 2011, according to an ASCA release.

Each of these members of Congress was recently visited by an ASC delegation from their home state. The delegations strongly advocated for the legislation and followed up with congressional staff members after they returned home.

The bill now has 36 sponsors and co-sponsors in the U.S. house and four in the U.S. Senate.
