OptiMedica announced the launch of its Catalys Precision Laser System in the U.S., and the first patient cases are being done by Mike Mann, MD, and Paul Mann, MD, at the Mann Eye Institute in Houston.
The laser system allows Drs. Mann to perform laser capsulatomy, in which a circular incision is made in the lens capsule and lens fragmentation, in which the cataract-affected lens is softened and segmented, during cataract surgery.
