7 Key Notes on ASC Management & Development Companies – HCA, Surgical Management Professionals, Northstar Healthcare & Others

Here are seven news updates from ambulatory surgery center management and development companies.

AmSurg has announced that it will share its third quarter 2013 financial results on Oct. 22. The company also announced that it will hold a conference call at 9 a.m. the following day.

Covenant Surgical Partners announced it raised $2.3 million in an equity offering, according to an SEC filing. In May, the company amended a previous filing from $2 million to $5 million in equity and at that time the CEO said it would be used for general operating capital, according to a Nashville Business Journal report.

HCA has named William B. Rutherford CFO and Executive Vice President beginning Jan. 1, 2014. He succeeds R. Milton Johnson, who will become President and CEO of the company.

Northstar Healthcare reported preliminary revenue results for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 2013 at approximately $7 million. This would be the highest quarterly revenues the company reported in nearly five years.

PCI | HealthDev, previously Physicians' Capital Investments, recently named Bryan R. Parker senior vice president of business development. In this role, Mr. Parker is responsible for overseeing the company's relationship with DaVita Healthcare Partners.

Surgical Management Professionals has announced that it has added Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, Pa., and Lewis and Clark Hospital in Yankton, S.D., as management services clients. "We are very happy to be selected to partner with these fine facilities, and think the relationship will be mutually beneficial and rewarding," said Mike Lipomi, president and CEO of SMP.

Physicians Endoscopy helped organize, coordinate and execute a strategy to bring five gastroenterologists in New York together to begin construction on Island Digestive Health Center, which began this past week. The center is scheduled to open March 2014.
