Vanderbilt University Medical Center's ASC project could cost up to $51.5M

Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center's planned development in Murfreesboro, Tenn., is expected to cost $51.5 million, WGNS News Radio reports.

What you should know:

1. VUMC is building a 37,500-square-foot pediatric clinic and ASC. Within 10 years, VUMC wants to expand the building to 100,000 square feet.

2. Initially, VUMC would employ 14 physicians and nurse practitioners, as well as up to 50 additional staff members.

3. VUMC's estimated payroll after the first phase of development is $8 million.

4. After the expansion, VUMC plans to add up to 150 jobs increasing the payroll to an estimated $24 million.
