University of Kentucky breaks ground on advanced ambulatory building

Lexington-based University of Kentucky recently broke ground on a new cancer and advanced ambulatory building.

The 550,000-square-foot facility will host the university’s cancer center, a spine center, an ambulatory surgery space and other outpatient services, according to an April 25 news release. The building’s ambulatory surgery space will feature eight operating rooms.

The building is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
