Medtech company Smith+Nephew has partnered with Standard Health to develop the first orthopedic ASC in the United Kingdom.

The facility will provide services including rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction, knee and hip replacements and foot, ankle, hand and wrist procedures, according to a June 18 news release from Smith+Nephew.

Standard Health is aiming to open 10 additional sites in the U.K. within the following three years and a total of 20 sites by 2030.

The ASC is expected to open in 2025 and serve thousands of patients per year, the release said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
