Flagstaff-based Northern Arizona Healthcare has begun the first phase of remodeling and expanding the Summit Center, also in Flagstaff, KAFF News reported June 17.

This initial phase of construction is expected to conclude in late 2025. The facility will remain open throughout the process, including all scheduled services and surgeries. Upgrades in this phase include new and expanded operating and pain procedure rooms, dedicated preparation and recovery spaces for pain procedures, a new and expanded sterile processing department, and a new surgery check-in and waiting area, among other features.

The final two phases of construction will occur between fall 2026 and spring 2028 and include a 6,000-square-foot addition to the building.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
