1. The hospital is filing a certificate of need due to population growth, patients’ desire for affordable surgical options and high demand for day surgery.
2. The new ASC would be built on land the hospital bought in December 2017 for $1.75 million.
3. The hospital plans to decertify two inpatient operating rooms and move them to the new ASC which will have two operating and procedure rooms.
4. A decision from the state is expected to be made between Nov. 30 and Jan. 31.
