New ASC Development

Builders have broken ground on a $335.8 million University of California San Francisco Medical Center facility that will house an ASC, according to a news release.

The Beloit (Wis.) City Council voted unanimously to change the city's "hospital" zoning category with the broader term "medical facility," Beloit Daily News reported Sept. 21.

Lansing, Mich.-based Sparrow Health System's board of directors approved a plan to build multiple ASCs in the area, among other projects, the company said Sept. 20.

Augusta Health is building an outpatient pavilion in Fishersville, Va., according to Barton Malow, a construction company involved with the project. 

Construction began on a medical building that will house a cardiology practice in Stockbridge, Ga., Henry County Times reported Sept. 16. 

Springfield, Mo.-based Jordan Valley Community Health Center is renovating a former Price Cutter grocery store into an ASC, SBJ Publishing reported Sept. 15.

Intermountain Healthcare and The Orthopedic Partners broke ground Sept. 15 on a joint-venture ASC, according to a news release sent to Becker's.

University of Texas System Board of Regents approved designs to increase the size and cost of a planned medical office building with an ASC in San Antonio, Virtual Builders Exchange reported Sept. 14. 

Construction is underway on the United Surgical Partners International-affiliated Northridge Surgery Center in Hendersonville, Tenn.
