New ASC Development

Baton Rouge, La.-based Ochsner Medical Complex-The Grove opened a comprehensive pediatric clinic featuring an ASC.

A January 2019 plan  that included a new ASC in the Buffalo, N.Y., suburb of Amherst has been scrapped, according to a Dec. 20 report from The Buffalo News.

Atlas Healthcare Partners and Banner Health, both based in Phoenix, have added three ASCs in Arizona, Atlas said Dec. 20.

Here are 18 hospitals and health systems that opened or announced plans for ASCs in November:

Crystal Lake-based OrthoIllinois received unanimous approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to build a $17.7 million ASC in Elgin, according to a Dec. 16 Chicago Tribune report.

Bangor-based Vision Care of Maine is planning to open an ASC in Auburn in 2022, according to a Dec. 15 Sun Journal report.

Physician Partners of America plans to open a multispecialty ASC in Florida during the first quarter of next year, the pain management practice said Dec. 14.

Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola Medicine broke ground on its ASC in Tinley Park, Ill., on Dec. 15.

Lexington-based University of Kentucky got the green light to buy land for a proposed $6.9 million outpatient cancer treatment center and advanced ambulatory complex, the university said Dec. 14.
