New ASC Development

The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., opened a new medical facility in Basalt April 14.

Irvine, Calif.-based Hoag Orthopedic Institute has upgraded its Main Street Specialty Surgery Center in Orange County, Calif., and plans to build a fourth ASC.

San Francisco-based Dignity Health is opening a $13 million ASC, The Sacramento Bee reported April 12.

California had the most ASCs last year, with 817 centers. Here are five recent moves by surgery centers in the state:

Citrus Heights (Calif.) Ambulatory Surgery Center will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 12 to celebrate the facility's opening.

Lowell General Hospital, Shields Health Care and local physicians have opened an ASC in Chelmsford, Mass., Valley Patriot reported April 10. 

UC Davis Health is planning to build a medical campus with an ASC in Folsom, Calif., next year, Sacramento Business Journal reported April 8. 

Private equity firm Hammes Partners is building an $18 million medical plaza with an ASC in McAllen, Texas, Milwaukee Business Journal reported April 8. 

Jupiter (Fla.) Medical Center kicked off construction of a surgical institute, South Florida Hospital News reported April 7.

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic Health System is kicking off a $15 million project for its campus in Albert Lea, Minn., Austin Daily Herald reported April 7.
