New ASC Development

HCA Healthcare's ambulatory surgery division opened its new Southern Joint Surgery Center with seven physician partners in downtown Nashville, according to a July 12 company news release.

St. Louis-based Barnes-Jewish Hospital is starting a joint venture ASC with physician group Washington University Physicians, CBS affiliate KMOV reported July 11.

Durango, Colo.-based Centura Mercy Hospital has partnered with Dallas-based United Surgical Partners International and local physicians to build a new surgery center.

ASC chain Surgery Partners and Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Health have submitted plans for a $328.7 million medical center in Asheville, N.C., The Transylvania Times reported June 29. 

Gastroenterology group MNGI Digestive Health and Allina Health, both based in Minneapolis, broke ground on a joint venture multispecialty clinic, ASC and endoscopy center, REJournals reported June 30.

Aurora Health Care's new Sheboygan, Wis., multispecialty medical center will open July 10.

San Antonio-based Methodist Hospital Northeast is building a medical office building with an ASC, San Antonio Express-News reported June 30.

Buffalo-based ophthalmology group UBMD Ophthalmology is doubling the capacity of its Ross Eye Institute with an expansion project that will eventually include a new ASC, Buffalo Business First reported June 29.
