NYU Langone announced plans to build an academic medical center in Melville, N.Y., according to a June 2 news release.
The New York City-based system also plans to open ASCs in Patchogue and Manhasset, N.Y., later in 2026. The projects were disclosed as part of the health system’s broader expansion strategy in Long Island.
The health system has expanded its outpatient footprint across Long Island in recent years. NYU Langone operates more than 120 physician practices in the region and opened NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Garden City in 2024, a 260,000-square-foot facility that houses 32 clinical specialties.
NYU Langone recently purchased another Garden City, N.Y., property and plans to develop an additional multispecialty ambulatory center there.
Since 2007, the health system has expanded its footprint across the New York metropolitan area by 376% and now occupies 14.4 million square feet across more than 320 locations, according to the release.
