New Unity Medical Center to house surgery center — 3 key notes

A $23 million healthcare facility is underway in Grafton, N.D.

Three key notes:

1. The new Unity Medical Center facility will feature a surgery center, rehabilitation services and an emergency room. It will also offer all private patient rooms, a rural medical training and education center, and a medical library.

2. U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., helped secure a $16.7 million loan for the project from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. An additional $5 million in funding comes from the Bank of North Dakota, and $1.4 million was raised locally.

3. Alan O’Neil serves as Unity Medical Center CEO.
