New ASC opens in Georgia

Valdosta-based South Georgia Medical Center joined forces with the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new SGMC Ambulatory Care Center, according to a July 9 report from Valdosta Daily Times.

The new center will provide a separate location for SGMC Orthopedics and the SGMC Pain Management Center to provide minimally invasive surgeries and procedures focused on increasing patient mobility.

Physicians will specialize in complex pain conditions, total joint replacements and reconstruction, hand surgery, pediatric orthopedics and sports medicine, according to the report.
