Mount Sinai South Nassau is planning to open an ambulatory multi-specialty in Wantagh, N.Y., according to a July 4 report from Herald Community Newspapers.

The $70 million facility is 63,000 square feet and will provide care across specialties including cardiology, digestive health and orthopedics.

Sunil George, MD, will serve as the center’s medical director.

The hospital purchased the property in 2016, but did not receive zoning approval for a medical facility until 2022.

Officials expect the center to serve between 1,200 and 1,500 patients each day and create about 200 jobs.

Mount Sinai also has four other multi-specialty centers on Long Island, N.Y.

The center is set to open later in July, the report said.
