Massachusetts provider groups developing $10M joint-venture surgery center — 4 insights

Worcester, Mass.-based Reliant Medical Group and Quincy, Mass.-based Shields Health Care Group plan to open Natick (Mass.) Surgery Center in 2020, the Worcester Business Journal reports.

What you should know:

1. The multispecialty surgery center will offer orthopedics, gynecology, urology, general and vascular surgery, and ENT procedures.

2. Natick Surgery Center will be the second surgery center the joint venture has opened.

3. The groups are turning an existing office building into the surgery center. They expect to spend $10 million on the renovations.

4. The center will have three operating rooms, a preoperative space and a post-anesthesia care unit, among others.
