Clay Center, Kan.-based Clay County Medical Center received a $2.5 million state grant to purchase a da Vinci 5 surgical robot, bringing robotic-assisted surgery to the rural Kansas community, CBS-affiliate WIBW 13 reported May 30.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment awarded the grant through its Rural Health Transformation Program’s Regional Partnerships Grant Program, which supports initiatives aimed at improving care access and strengthening local health systems.
The da Vinci 5 — Intuitive Surgical’s most advanced robotic platform — will support minimally invasive procedures across general surgery, gynecology and urology.
