Kaiser Permanente is advancing construction plans for its long-planned Redlands, Calif., medical campus, with the Redlands Planning Commission set to review detailed site plans for the project’s first building Aug. 25, Community Forward Redlands reported Aug. 24.
The commission will consider a 113,000-square-foot, three-story medical office and ASC at Kaiser’s existing property. The building, known as Medical Office Building/Ambulatory Surgery Center 2, would house urgent care, outpatient surgery, chemotherapy infusion, imaging, laboratory services and medical offices.
The ground floor would hold outpatient imaging, clinical specialties, laboratory services and an urgent care clinic. The second floor would include outpatient surgery, chemotherapy infusion and clinic space. The third floor would house outpatient procedures, surgery and recovery services, plus medical offices.
The project is the first phase of a larger expansion that ultimately calls for about 983,000 square feet of healthcare facilities on the campus, including additional medical office buildings, a future general hospital and a parking structure. The Redlands City Council approved the master development plan and certified its program environmental impact report in April.
Kaiser Permanente’s Redlands expansion reflects the health system’s continued investment in outpatient and ambulatory care capacity across Southern California.
