The Hoover (Ala.) Health Care Authority is close to selecting an operator for the outpatient surgery center planned in the region.
The authority received certificate-of-need approval in September 2024 but delayed progress after its initial request for proposals didn’t yield the right fit, according to a Sept. 25 Hoover Sun report.
Authority members recently interviewed two finalists and expect to meet with a third group this week before making a final decision.
The certificate of need review board has given the authority until Nov. 3 to submit paperwork identifying the operator.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
