Florida health system to build 4-story medical center with ASC: 4 details

The University of Miami (Fla.) Health System plans to build a medical center with outpatient services at Downtown Doral, a mixed-use community in Doral, Fla.

Four details:

1. UHealth at Downtown Doral will feature an ASC with four operating rooms. There, surgeons from the health system will provide “a range of outpatient surgical procedures,” according to a press release.

2. The 100,000-square-foot, four-story building will also feature Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, multispecialty clinics and an imaging center.

3. UHealth at Downtown Doral is expected to serve up to 300 patients a day and employ at least 75 staff members.

4. Modeled after the health system’s Lennar Foundation Medical Center in Coral Gables, Fla., the building is scheduled to open in the summer of 2022.
