Florida cardiology group opens ASC

The Cardiac Surgical Institute of Northwest Florida has opened a freestanding ASC in Panama City, Fla., and performed its first procedures Dec. 15, according to a Dec. 16 report from NBC affiliate WJHG

The new center offers services including heart catheterizations, coronary stents, pacemaker implantations and defibrillator procedures.. 

The facility is intended to serve as an alternative to hospital-based care for select cardiovascular procedures.
