East Tennessee gets 1st specialty ASC of its kind — 3 quick points

Tennessee Urology’s Urologic Surgery Center of Knoxville is the area’s first surgery center exclusively dedicated to urologic surgery.

Three quick points:

1. Knoxville-based Tennessee Urology held a grand opening for the center in early June.

2. The surgery center opened on the campus of Fort Sanders West, which is part of Knoxville-based Covenant Health.

3. Urologic Surgery Center of Knoxville has five operating and procedure rooms to accommodate services such as cystoscopy, prostate biopsies and stent placements.
