Duke Health expanding with $12M ASC

Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health has received state approval to expand into Orange County, N.C., with the building of a $12 million ASC, according to the Triangle Business Journal.

The ASC is being built in Chapel Hill, N.C., to add operating rooms in the county after a needs assessment found it needed three more. The ASC will have two operating rooms and two procedure rooms and is projected to collect $12.2 million in net revenue by its third fiscal year of operation.

Duke Health also asked to expand the campus of its main hospital by adding three operating rooms, but the state only approved one.
