Six details:

1. Raleigh, N.C.-based Compass Surgical Partners will build the Triad Center for Surgery in partnership with Charlotte-based OrthoCarolina and its local physicians, as well as independent ophthalmologists and pain management specialists.

2. Compass will lead the development and serve as operating partner of the ASC.

3. Upon anticipated completion in May 2020, Triad Center for Surgery will be Winston-Salem’s only multispecialty, freestanding ASC not affiliated with a hospital.

4. The ASC will be near Forsyth Medical Center, with two operating rooms and three procedure rooms designed to support sports medicine, ophthalmology, total joint replacement and spine surgery.

5. Intended to expand patient access, the new center will also provide a centralized space for OrthoCarolina surgeons and other local providers to perform outpatient surgery.

6. The providers applied for a certificate of need in May 2018, received approval in October 2018 and received a full certificate in April 2019.
