Urbana, Ill.-based Carle Health approved a $45 million investment in Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Ill., that includes a new specialty medical office building and emergency department expansion.
The 46,000-square-foot, two-story medical office building will consolidate outpatient specialty clinics currently located across the hospital campus and other Carle facilities into one location, according to a May 7 news release.
The facility will house specialty services including cardiology, urology and podiatry, along with a laboratory and infusion center. The building will connect directly to the hospital campus to improve access for patients and care teams.
Construction is expected to begin in late summer, with completion projected for late fall 2027.
After the medical office building is completed, Carle plans to begin an expansion of the hospital’s emergency department. The ED project is expected to begin in fall 2027 and conclude in summer 2028, according to the release.
